No, I'm not nuts. Historically this has been the case. There has never been an entrepreneur that refused to open a business because he might have to pay taxes, even when the top tax rate was 92%. Right now corporate taxes and capital gains are the lowest they've been, and taxes on moving money in and out of the country have been removed. The result: almost no jobs. Years ago when these taxes were in place and just slightly higher: 8 times more jobs created. ? Higher taxes = jobs.

If you can sit back and retire on the interest, you need to? be heavily taxed. It lags up the economy when the rich hoard their money. But if taxes threaten their riches, they are motivate to continue to make riches - by starting new businesses and financing new ventures to grow their wealth. And since corporate taxes are the lowest they've ever been and captial gains is only 15%, they already have the incentive to do so. High taxes on the rich create jobs, not low taxes.

No, because taxes are high right now. If I was rich now, why the hell would I bother to keep working? when in some cases over 50% of my earnings would be stolen away? I'm rich. I don't have to work. I can go chill out on a beach for the rest of my life instead. There has to be incentive for rich people to take a risk, keep working & reinvest their capital into the workforce market. Or at least they can't penalize it, which is what happens now with all the red tape to even hire someone.

Yes business do fire people when taxes rise, expecially small businesses. Most small businesses operate so tightly that the? owners barely take enough to live off of. Toss in higher taxes and no teh owner can't make ends meet, they will fire to survice.

One politicians loop-hole is all businesses cost of doing? business. Did you know oil companies pay royalties to property owners? How about, did you know it cost money to drill a well? Let us not forget employee, product transportation, production costs, etc. Obama calls these deductions, subsidies. Every compnay that has received green-energy subsidies has gone belly up. On this point I agree with you that higher tax for corporations leads to outsourcing. But correct me if not, I don't think there is any tax increase proposal. There were loop-hole closing proposals only. But overall my take is to reduce the overall rate and close all loop-holes, and minimize subsidies with some exceptions? such as renewable energy, and innovation related grants

Considering the US has the absolute highest corporate tax rate in the world and it just got higher this past Sunday.? This is why corporations send jobs overseas. The reduced tax rate on foreign income the the reward they receive. These are what the Democrats call the big incentives. Thing is, these tax rates were imposed by Democtats under Clinton. One of the few laws he pased when he had both houses.

Nobody is proposing taxes to punish the 'evil' millionairs or to? help the people outside of 'upper crust' to accumulate wealth. These are just your assumptions. The discussion here is if reducing the tax on businesses a good thing for the economy right not or not. My take is it is not good and can be counter productive. Most of the 'evil' millionaires in this country are sub Chapter 'S' corporations, Small 'C' corporations, and family farmers. Almost 100% of the 'evil' corporate farmers are family farmers who incorporate so they can pass the farm on via coroprate law and not? loose it to estate taxes. The estate tax was not designed to whallop the rich, it was designed to prevent wealth from accumulating outside of the 'upper crust'. Dems love this tax, Repubs hate it.

A business owner will not increase reinvestment if there is no need for reinvestment. They are not going to expand operations jsut for teh sake of expanding operations. An increase in taxes on business owners have usually? resulted in layoffs, reduced reinvestment, and closures. Thinking a tax increase will stimulate the economy is an oxymoron.
