After three years and 2 rejections applying to the Air Force Academy, despite all odds against my lower grades in high school and taking the ACT and the SAT 8 times each I finally gained acceptance into the Prep School for the Academy...? I graduate in may and will receive my appointment to? the Academy after persevering another year. Was it luck? Who knows. I say faith. Never give up on your dreams!

Too be sure, it is a? good school. But its rank is skewed do to high rejection rates. When compared to the best Universities in the world (also from U.S. News and World Report), Notre Dame isn't even in the top 100 (by the way UChi is ranked #8).

However, it is much harder to transfer to UChicago than it is to ND (not to mention getting accepted originally). Not as many people apply to UChicago, because they know they won't get in. Notre Dame has more hopeless hopefuls. To transfer to? UChicago you pretty much had to have been able to get in originally (i.e. go to community college for a year because its cheaper). ND alumni love to compare ND to the best schools

If a UChicago? student wanted to transfer to ND the admissions dept. in South Bend (sorry Notre Dame, Indiana) would have a heart attack and then offer the student every thing (included the kitchen sink as well as the damned oven). Let's face it, for quality of education ND is ok (at best), their selectivity is do to their high rejection of football fans!
