It is inescapable. ... By: mlmr11. on 21 Jul 11, 14:20:50 It is inescapable. Every item on the market today has artificially inflated value because most people buy on time and interest. A TV set that should cost $100 based on the average mans salary and ability to pay costs $500 dollars because he's buying it based on a monthly payment.
But it doesn't stop at $500 dollars because they interest he's going? to pay on the television might cost him $100 + ...total cost of TV that should cost $100 = $600 + ??? Human stupidity is enslaving us

- Thank God I ... By: specialks1953. on 22 Apr 11, 23:16:49 - Thank God I learned to read when I was in school so I can read the terms of credit card companies. NAIVE people should not enter into contracts. NAIVE people know they are Naive yet they still don't protect themselves. Sounds like Naive people should consider getting some help before they do anything that may get them into a situation that don't understand. Those mean old credit card companies? should give people a test before they lend to them. If Naive, they should get credit.
You said that no ... By: charmaliqueNYC. on 22 Apr 11, 22:57:45 You said that no one forces people to do stupid things? Hello, it's called misleading advertising, and these loan companies and credit card companies use every trick and tactic, using celebrities, real costumers or actors who they pay to say these companies's scripts on tv to lure new? and naive customers into their web of false promises and deception, and it works. They're nothing but common loan sharks. I'm just saying. At least, the Debt Professor is telling the truth.

Everything is going up now. The rent, the mortgage, the groceries, the medical bills, the heat and electric, the water, the taxes. And we need those things to survive.
- No one forces ... By: specialks1953. on 22 Apr 11, 22:08:51 - No one forces people to do stupid things. If you use credit you should know the lender will make as much money as possible. If? a borrower is stupid enough to borrow from a lender it's the borrower that's stupid not the lender that is bad. Don't buy shit you can not afford no matter how poor you are. My work takes me into poor peoples homes & most of them have a big screen TV & a bunch of other stupid purchases they probably bought on credit. Not the credit card company's fault
You keep going on ... By: charmaliqueNYC. on 22 Apr 11, 21:10:32 You keep going on and on, defending credit card industries, most of them who are scamming poor working class customers out of their hard earned money. Excuse me, there are millions of people in America who are NOT RICH!! They got other bills to pay like rent, electricity, water, etc. And that's on a monthly basis. Most retailers don't accept? cash anymore. How can they pay the total balance with high rates they can't afford when they only earn an average of $15000 after taxes?

By: specialks1953. on 06 Feb 11, 06:32:29 - Credit is not fake nor is it designed to enslave a borrower. - It is provided as a tool, so the lender makes a profit & the borrower is able to balance funds flow. - It is the individual borrower's choice to use credit irresponsibly or? responsibly. - Many lenders rely on the borrower's stupidity to increase above reasonable profits. - ULTIMATELY, IT IS THE INDIVIDUAL'S LIFE CHOICE ! ! ! - Don't blame others for STUPIDITY ! ! ! - No company can remove a borrower's IRRESPONSIBILITY !

I went to a lecture of Professor Philo's the other day and he stated that this 20% taxation is also progressive. (i.e. the richest of this 10% will pay more than the least rich of this 10%). Thank you for providing a basis for your thought that gold is under valued. However, I don't believe it is useful to use the Dow as an aggregate indicator of the price of real goods (partly because I agree we don't have a free market).
"The Golden Constant," by Roy W. Jastram is widely accepted as the definitive empirical study of gold's purchasing power (in real goods).

Currently it takes 9.52 ounces of gold to buy the Dow.? A 1:1 ratio today would put gold at $9500/oz ... or the Dow at $1064.

I'm confused. You said, "Here's my question for you then," and then never asked a question. You made the following statements:
1. 19th century 1 oz. gold had less value than same coin today. (I disagree)
2. You falsely assume constant production costs and prices of non-gold items. (I have not made those assumptions).
You also failed to provide any examples that would? lend credibility to your theory that the purchasing power of gold will skyrocket.

He bases his ideas about paying off the debt on the ill-conceived notion that treasuries gaining value through accruing interest is a good thing.
The fact is simply that the more money there is, the less it's worth. This is the basic concept of supply & demand. In a system where more dollars compete for the same amount of goods, the goods cost? more dollars.
I wouldn't take any financial advice from this guy, as he is obviously living on another planet.
If you owe someone ... By: strolchi10. on 19 May 09, 16:44:37 If you owe someone (ore believe you do) this person has Power offer you! Our whole economy is built on this money out of dept system it is not fair if one thinks the simply using the power to create money out of nothing there is no real good behind it so the get the real good you get paper!? You have to work for it youre work is real Good ore they take youre house if you cant pay anymore so they always win and they can call in at any time of there choice! Its a fraudulent system!
One solution would ... By: strolchi10. on 19 May 09, 16:35:29 One solution would be to go back to a constitutional system let congress have the issuing Power back and not the international Banksters! End The Fed Reserve system!! When he said the govt owes it to the govt he mistakes they owe it to the private Banksters of the Fed! The fed is not part of the Govt as he might assume its a private owned banking cartel witch make endless profit on the simple power to create money out? of thin air lending to us wit interest attached to it! They owen us!
He misses a lot of ... By: strolchi10. on 19 May 09, 16:28:01 He misses a lot of points in his view! First there is not enough money in the system to pay of the dept the interest is? not created with the money! All money in existence is dept someone has to owe so if we paid back all the dept private and govt there would be no dollar ore penny left in the system and we would still owe the interest as it was not created in the process of giving credit! No way all dept could be paid back if the govt dont owe some privates must ore there be no money!
Mr. Money Man.
You ... By: ahausheer. on 28 Dec 08, 17:16:03 Mr. Money Man.
You have some problems with you logic. I assume you are suggesting we should never pay off our debt? If so then our currency would loose most of its value rather quickly. Not paying off your debt is called defaulting. Like what happened with Russia. According to your logic? we can all just charge everything to our credit cards and never pay them off???
The government does ... By: chasna2. on 25 Nov 08, 07:23:38 The government does not? own the bonds held in the trust funds. Those bonds are a liability of the Treasury and an asset of the trust fund and can be redeemed for taxpayer funds when needed. Mister Money Man needs to do some reading of the literature put out by the Trustees of the Social Security Trust Fund.
HUH? What's that ... By: filoviriae. on 28 Oct 08, 17:11:50 HUH? What's that you say? We can't just print more and give them out? Okay... Why don't we increase the yield? for a 30 year treasury bond, let's say from 4% to 67%? Then the 3 trillion dollars worth of bonds held by Americans (mentioned in the video) will become 5 trillion dollars when our kids cash them out! That's still pretty good!!!!! Everyone call Congress!
Wow... according to ... By: filoviriae. on 28 Oct 08, 17:11:20 Wow... according to this logic, why don't we just PRINT more treasury bonds and give them out to everyone, especially the poor in America?? If we print enough (let's say 21 trillion $ worth of bonds) and distribute all of them to U.S. citizens, then our kids and grandkids will inherit the 9 trillion mentioned in the video plus the new 21 trillion I just proposed, totalling to 30 trillion dollars!!!! That's 30 trillion dollars we just gave our kids! WOW!!!!

If you pay down the ... By: Darone1966. on 06 Oct 08, 17:34:08 If you pay down the debt, the vast majority of it we owe to ourselves anyway, then all you have done is to increase the amount of dollars in circulation.
Yes, some of those? dollars are held in foreign hands, but they cannot be of any real value to them unless they be brought back home and exchanged for value.
So, what you end up doing is causing more dollars to be available for circulation, making them inherently less valuable for trade (ie: inflationary).
Good job!
Keep the debt!!!!

We need to pay it ... By: KHallesy. on 01 Oct 08, 07:38:53 We need to pay it off. I have been saying for 10 years that the only way we can do it is to add $1.00 to every gallon of gas and put 100% towards the national debt. No money can be used for anything else period!!! This would pay the national debt and would allow us to give our children a country free of debt. It would cause us to drive? less and make us work harder on fuel efficiency and buy smaller cars. Also if people were not able to afford the gas we could give them free bus coupons, etc
debtor nation? ... By: humanity6fl9. on 25 Sep 08, 08:42:48 debtor nation? logic. thats why we're in the trouble we are in right now! who has ever heard of such a thing. your in better fiscal standing by not paying off a debt. we've just walked through the looking glass.absolute lunacy. the debtor is servant to the lender.when pray tell will this yoke of interest be lifted off our necks.could you please supply us with a cutout version of that aha i get it now your an agent of the federal reserve. say when was the last general accounting of your offices.

It is inescapable.

- Thank God I learned to read when I was in school so I can read the terms of credit card companies.

You said that no one forces people to do stupid things? Hello, it's called misleading advertising, and these loan companies and credit card companies use every trick and tactic, using celebrities, real costumers or actors who they pay to say these companies's scripts on tv to lure new? and naive customers into their web of false promises and deception, and it works. They're nothing but common loan sharks. I'm just saying. At least, the Debt Professor is telling the truth.
By: charmaliqueNYC. on 22 Apr 11, 22:53:28
So you see, it's not the customer's on how they use credit cards or bank? loans. It's the school's and parent's responsibility to teach children right about money, because teens do spend money, but don't pay bills.
By: charmaliqueNYC. on 22 Apr 11, 22:47:46
As far as the plasma TV and other expenses are concern, that's just big spenders who doesn't know anything about managing money. It's been like that since they're kids because they were taught by the schools or their parents on how to earn money and how to manage it when they got it.?
By: charmaliqueNYC. on 22 Apr 11, 22:44:45
Look, it's not the customer's fault to use credit cards. We are not paid enough from emplyers to get what we want. ? Everything is going up now. The rent, the mortgage, the groceries, the medical bills, the heat and electric, the water, the taxes. And we need those things to survive.
By: specialks1953. on 22 Apr 11, 22:08:51
- No one forces people to do stupid things.
By: charmaliqueNYC. on 22 Apr 11, 21:10:32
You keep going on and on, defending credit card industries, most of them who are scamming poor working class customers out of their hard earned money.

If sued, Elect Arbitration- JAMS and AAA. It allows a Debtor to go on Offense, and charge creditor with $ Violations on FDCPA- FCRA, they break the law Every time they collect? a debt. Debtor Boards advocates this, if U dont know your rights, you have none. Get your case Out of Kangaroo Courts, elect Arbitration, it costs Creditors $3000-10000 to pursue it, most wont. NAF- declared a Fraud and moratorium, Arb is now working! Creditors have No note, Affadavit is bogus & $ Securitized

- Credit is not fake nor is it designed to enslave a borrower.

- THE ONLY THING YOU NEED TO DO IS PAY OFF YOUR BILLS & QUIT BUYING CRAP YOU DON'T NEED. THERE IS NO SHORTCUT. Stupid people do stupid things. Stupid people that do not learn continue to do stupid things. Stupid people? buy more than they can afford so they use credit to do it. Be stupid & use credit to buy stupid stuff or GET SMART & learn to live on less than your income. (It took me years but I did not cheat anyone out of what I committed to pay them.) Don't blame others for STUPID!

Credit & Credit cards are not evil. People spending more than they make, is the problem. If I sell you some rope, then you use it to hang yourself, I'm not the bad guy, you? used the rope wrong. - Either use the rope correct or deal with your own problem. - STOP buying the STUFF you WANT ! ! ! - Buy the Stuff you Really NEED. - Pay your bills off & don't use credit wrong. - Search "DAVE RAMSEY", you won't like what he says any more than what I have said here but IF you learn, YOU will be better !

Credit is a fake concept created by the bankers to enslave us and keep us in perpetual prison, but credit is still needed to function. I was a victim of overbloated credit myself, and struggled for months trying to get my credit score to respectability. Worst time spent EVER. I was struggling with this, but my friend recommended a company that? did all the leg work for him, and all they charged me was $40/year. Give them a call if you got credit problems, They are AWESOME: 888-338-3875
