Friend didn't listen to me and had his gain up all the way and screwed up his amp. Then it started working again, but it can clip so bad it shuts off. Plus the Lpf sucks too, causes distortion.

Showing you that voltage drop isn't good for your amplifiers. It will cause clipping which isn't good for your amp or subwoofers. Anything below 12 volts is not good, preferably nothing below 13.
If you've seen the other videos of the abusive i've giving this thing and the coil still looks that good??? I don't know why it just stopped. But, i had enough so i tore it apart.

My MTX terminator amp runs at full potential off that PSU. All CAPS do is provide a burst of amps if the amplifier needs it and protects against voltage spikes and such. I mean yeah you could use it but you wouldn't wanna run this particular subwoofer on that amp at 1 ohm. But, you could wire a dual 2 up to 4 ohms and run it or get a dual 1 ohm and wire it up to 2. I believe they have a dual 1 ohm option. But, if you got a better 18" than this, sure you could run it at 1 ohm. But, this particular sub you? would most certainly not want to run that amp at 1 ohm on it.

But the ohm load only matters on what amplifier you have and how much power it puts out at that ohm load. If this was wired up to 4 ohms and an amp did 1,000 rms at 4 ohms or whatever. But, its wired down to 1? and the amplifier does 1,500 rms at 1 ohm. But, since he does not have the electrical for the amp, its not going to put out full power.

But, they are rated at 1000 watt rms with no modifications. If you? get the extras, i'd say around 1,200-1,300 rms. This is the hardest hitting sub my friend and I have ever installed. The box isnt that great, we made it. But, it slams the lowes for what the box is.
