Footage from the 10/10/11 Chicago march against economic injustice - Wall Street brought down our economy and received trillions in bailouts, while no one is creating the jobs lost in the crisis. The march was sponsored by the SEIU, USW and a variety of other unions.
Why is it that neither Republicans or Democrats are proposing a bold jobs program in congress today and what can we do? Part of the answer lies in the tea party and its opposition to any government involvement in our economy. We need to create a movement for creating jobs now that is just as passionate as the tea party. More details at http://rebootourpoli tics.wordpress.com/.

By: MrFooknuts. on 31 Oct 11, 00:28:51 The government can not create jobs because it? doesn't earn any money. The government merely confiscates money from those who do.They used this confiscated money to bail out wall st. The Tea Party is not against all government spending, just too much.
They are not grass ... By: MAINEPREPPER. on 07 Oct 11, 11:35:34 They are not grass roots but were formed as off shoots from Koch brothers owned political action initiatives such as Americans For Prosperity. An angry group of people are the easiest to manipulate, their sense of? reason is easily set aside and they will quickly go after anyone or anything that they are convinced is the cause of their anger. It's a clever method of doing thing and not that hard to see through; follow the money and you will see why they do what they do.
This is one of the ... By: MAINEPREPPER. on 07 Oct 11, 11:30:11 This is one of the Koch brothers talking points that you have parroted almost verbatim. Giving more money to rich people does not automatically create jobs, it automatically makes them richer. They may create more jobs with the money but those jobs may not be here in America, except of course for their personal servants, i.e. the illegal aliens who clean their homes and mow their lawns. Of course everybody wants less government... EXCEPT the parts? they use of course.
Unfortunately your ... By: MAINEPREPPER. on 07 Oct 11, 11:27:06 Unfortunately your party has? been hijacked by it's largest financial contributors who have subtly shifted your focus on to THEIR agenda. They have convinced you that the reason we have an economic crisis is because of unemployment insurance, welfare, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid (things THEY don't need). They are doing this so we do not raise their taxes back where they were 15 years ago and you are falling for it.
So why are american ... By: LiekABaus. on 02 Oct 11, 09:46:11 So why are american companies increasingly investing in foreign economies like china that have infinitely stricter government regulations, vastly more currency manipulation, and? higher effective corporate tax rates?
you know, all the stuff businesses are supposed to hate?

Spending money is ... By: SteelsCrow. on 15 Sep 11, 00:38:59 Spending money is only useful? if it is spent wisely. These ideas spend money well. I say stop spending on war, even if it does allow terrorists into our country. The way i see it, we can be building more than what some terrorists can destroy, because of one important fact: terrorists need money and resources to operate. Where is their money coming from?
Whatever our country focuses on, we will get.
They need to be ... By: rebootourpolitics. on 14 Sep 11, 18:20:52 They need to be funded by borrowing through government treasuries. Funding them through cutting spending or raising taxes would reduce the effect of putting money into the economy. Political theater aside, there is no 'debt crisis' in this country - there is simply a? large amount of debt to be repaid when tax revenues are high from a flourishing economy. Down the road, Ending two wars and returning taxes to Clinton era rates will help repay the deficit.
These are great ... By: DAHdeeism. on 14 Sep 11, 18:00:48 These are great ideas. However, how would you? fund these proposals? I think more people would get on board if you can do all these things without putting the US in another fiscal crisis.

In this video, second part of a video series which examines how we can restart our economy, we look at objections to an ambitious program to create jobs and create the kind of infrastructure America needs going forward. Specifically, I challenge the erroneous notion that we need to focus on cutting the budget deficit, and make the argument that doing so will actually hinder our recovery.
The economy isn't ... By: Anonymous10135. on 18 Feb 12, 07:36:09 The economy isn't an engine. It isn't a circular flow. The economy is organic. We created a boom in the early 2000's, the recession is? the correction. It's as simple as that.
What will it take have the U.S. economy recovery? Contrary to what much of the press, policiticians and libertarian blogosphere are saying, cutting our federal deficit is actually counterproductive right now. Our government needs to kickstart the economy, get people back to work, and do the necessary infrastructure work for the U.S. economy to prosper in the 21st century.

If your assumption ... By: YaHuWaHservant. on 02 Jan 12, 12:48:24 If your assumption was correct then under Obama we would have seen an economic recovery. As it stands now we have added over 4 trillion to the national debt and the economy is worse then when Obama took office. The kind of men who agree with Government Spending are men like Jon Corzine and Paul Krugman. One who made billions by actually stealing from people and another who thinks we need a make believe alien? invasion to fix the economy.
