Sen. Lamar Alexander (R -- Tenn.) today on the Senate floor announced his support for the House-passed budget and the budget proposed by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Penn.), saying they were "opportunities to make the next step after the Budget Control Act, and I look forward to working with them to adopt a responsible budget that grows the economy and reduces our debt."
Sen. Alexander (R-Tenn.) today called for a vote on his bill to keep interest rates on new subsidized Stafford loans at 3.4 percent for a year, and pay for it with money from the health care law, which "overcharges students to help pay for the health care law."
