If you don't drill ... By: ruddybop. on 06 Apr 12, 11:18:23 If you don't drill a small 1/8" or 3/16" hole in your cap for air you will loose your siphon when the electricity goes out. Having a cap with no breather hole makes the siphon suck all the water out of the siphon and it will not restart when the electricity comes back on. The hole in the cap lets the water stay in the pvc with even pressure on both sides of your U pieces so it restarts when electricity comes back on.? :) .
