Before you compare to the Kveer from Uru / Myst V / Realmyst, note that this was based entirely off of the renders from the original Myst, since Riven's opening uses one of those renders, logic follows that the rest of the room would be the same.

Been working constantly on this for the past week. The first several days were spent working in zbrush, to get the sculpting and polypainting down. Then I retopologized in Blender, over the course of three days. Then I brought all of the subtools over to blender and baked individually to the low poly.
Hope you like it! I'll probably do an animation with him at some point.

A quick video just as an update about what I'm working on. A splinter cell-esque spy game character. The base elements were modeled in blender and imported as subtools. The only sculpting so far is on the head and mid section of the body base layer.

A zbrush sculpt made mostly to familiarize myself with zspheres, which most of the subtools were made with. The polypainting in some places is pretty low res, because these were the highest subdiv level I could get to without my computer protesting. I tried HD geometry, but that crashed zbrush a few times. :P

I made this a long time ago, but I thought I'd post it now. It's a gun and camera movement setup that works pretty well. I don't know any real programming, so it doesn't do anything other than turn and fire, but I think it looks good, and that's all I was really going for. :P

The poly count is 1029. The basic method uses one low poly mesh (baked from a low poly), emerging from a plane.

This is a sculpt of a hand I did for a character. The final model was 2.5 million polys, and took about 4 days to make. The hand was intended to be of a mid forties male, with the skin tone and features of a native american. This video was made with zbrush's endearingly infuriating (like all of zbrush) timeline feature.
