Direct your game to this instead: Start/Computer/Local Disk(C:)/Program files/Steam/Steamapps/[Insert your steam username here]/garrysmod/garrysmod
If this doesnt help it, then your game is installed somewhere else! A simple way to fix that:
Search for "garrysmod" and the folder should pop up.
