The very concept of centrally planned interest rates is disaterous and leads to the boom/bust cycles we experience. Interest rates, left unfettered by gov tinkerers like Bernanke, 'communicate' the 'price' of capital investment. Low rates = plentiful capital thus expansion. The fed is saying? through its cut that capital is plentiful when in fact it is not.
