With the proper tools and material, you can make jigs that are just as good, and sometimes better than the jigs you buy. There's nothing better than catching that "wall hanger" on a jig you made yourself. Give it a try!

It was a tough day for fishing, but seeing kayakers from Texas enjoying the lake was nice. I did catch one bass towards the end. As Forrest once said, "Shrimpin is tough."
It seems like this kill was restricted to one area on the lake. I'm guessing it was caused by a bloom because there was a green tint in water that is normally clear.
