It helped to emphasize the sickness of drug abuse.
Normally, for example, you have high end commericals of alcohol where producers seek to make their products seem as enticing as possible. Your project counters it. The continuous zoom-ins on drugs, alcohol,? and abusers has an "in your face" effect. It's like saying to your audience, "Here, you want THIS? You want to be like THIS?
