Comparison of radiation levels at the gated Oyler uranium mine and and exposed outcrops in Grand Wash just down wash from the mine. I am not sure how many other outcrops as this are present near the mine, I did not look for others after discovering this one.
what are the scales ... By: arrwade. on 01 Jul 11, 03:31:34 what are the scales of it? couldn't quite see the gauge on your meter. about how many times normal of radioactive dose was it? I don't know. Radiation is? the only part of science that is actually really interesting. Probably nothing near Chernobyl or Chelyabinsk, Russia (most radioactive area in the world) but just curious.
Thanks!
Thats crazy!! is it ... By: 2714sr. on 07 Jun 11, 16:41:18 Thats crazy!! is it easy to find those geodes? are you worried about them letting out radiation in? your house?
Yes it sure lit up ... By: GREGORYALLENSLOAN. on 18 May 11, 02:57:49 Yes it sure lit up I think that area has Uranium outcrops all over the place it sure is a beautiful place to explore. i am glad you enjoyed my video. Yours is pretty good also. I am into electronics myself and have built a few projects with the good old 555. My favorite? electronics now are vacuum tubes some of them are works of art.
I think your meter ... By: daveeyes. on 18 May 11, 01:49:48 I think your meter topped out at 500 milli-roentgens per hour, or 1/2 roentgen per hour. Let's see ... 1 sievert is 100 rads, so, call it, .005 sieverts.? (All math errors are mine). Anyway, that certainly woke your meter up! I wonder if that rock had perhaps worked loose recently. Anyway, thanks for an interesting video, I liked it.
it is? very ... By: Bonsay3. on 03 Aug 10, 11:22:02 it is? very dangerous ! it is necessary closegd this area or park !
We? went there in ... By: cmahar3. on 19 Jan 10, 05:27:40 We? went there in June 2009. Found a vein of soft black stone that ran right along next to the grated enterance to the mine, and extended along the cliff that pegged my Geiger Counter offscale.
Very interesting ... By: djravery. on 06 Dec 09, 04:33:27 Very interesting geologically. Cap Reef is the? crown jewel of southern Utah IMO.
