I saw this deer wandering in the garden eating my grass so i thought i'd film it to share the wildlife with you, if i see him again maybe i'll try get closer (likely)...
In this video i'll show you how to make and use thermite, it is very simple requiring the mixing of two chemicals, Al and Fe2o3 (red iron oxide), it was due to be uploaded a month ago but my computer broke during uploading, sorry to keep everyone waiting!
more videos soon to come.
Just a quick video showing you my flare, utilising calcium sulphate and aluminium powder mixed together, i ignite it using a "flash powder" i made a long time ago and it works very well.
Please excuse the apparent non widescreen second half, it is playing up and I cannot edit the video files farther on WMM.
quick and easy video on how to make rockets lol
want me to make videos on making pyrotechnic mixes?
please do tell me if this video was helpful, could you find a better video? online/one that is more clear etc.
this is a quick video of my rocket and its design, it uses two fins instead of one for stability which
A; makes it lighter than if i used a stick
B; it generally flies straighter than a stick rocket
and C; it is much shorter than a single stick rocket (that is stable) so i could use it in a launcher of some description
Watch the new video REMAKE, far better.
NOTE THAT THE TRANSISTOR EMITTER CONNECTS TO THE BATTERY NEGATIVE AND NOT THE COLLECTOR.
This is a video on how to assemble the 400v charger circuit by soldering, it is pretty easy but it can be fiddly, all you need are four components all from the camera flash circuit but doing this gives the advantage of being really small.
sorry, go to the ... By: ConnorXV. on 22 Apr 12, 15:40:15 sorry, go to the newer video, the circuit? diagram i used is in the description.

did you get all the ... By: MrStemkilla. on 09 Jul 11, 06:48:26 did you get all the parts from taking apart a disposible camera? and what dose the transmitter do in the in operating the transformer??
i have a history ... By: ConnorXV. on 06 Jun 11, 21:48:45 i have a history exam tomorrow so not between now and then but? expect it 2-3 days maybe.
me and my friend are going to be working on a coilgun project and with about 100 disposable flash capacitors we have all the power we want, i only plan on sticking about 30 in there and maybe using the others for different projects but i can easily use more. im going to be switching power using triacs rated for 250 amps only 90 pence each.
oh, awesome. thats? ... By: InedibleBuffalo. on 06 Jun 11, 21:41:53 oh, awesome. thats? so much easier to get. when is the new vid gonna be up? my friends and I plan on working on it sometime this upcoming weekend.
I'd say try going ... By: ConnorXV. on 06 Jun 11, 21:19:40 I'd say try going to your nearest camera shop that develops film and ask for the used disposable? cameras, never say it is for a gun of any kind or a shocker project but that it is for a strobe flashing lights project and the more cameras the better (that way they would give you them all), sometimes they can be reluctant to give them away and if they tell you they are dangerous tell them you know all about the dangers of electricity:P
thats how i got 95 used disposable cameras!
the parts all come ... By: ConnorXV. on 06 Jun 11, 21:16:13 the parts all come from camera charging circuits,? i don't know the specs sorry.
I am making a remake showing a quicker way to make this circuit and it is better aswell.
For charging your bank I'd say four chargers connected together, although you need to put 3-4 batteries with it also because AAs dont have a very good current output capability.
This is exactly ... By: InedibleBuffalo. on 06 Jun 11, 19:19:07 This is exactly what I need to charge my 15 capacitor (300V 470microfarad each) bank.
How many do you think I should make to charge it in under 1 minute?
Also, could you be more specific about the stats for the parts I need (transformer and transistor)? Or does it not really matter?
I'm buying my parts from here (sayal dot com) and there are so many options I have no idea what to? pick.
Cheers man! This is the last part of my railgun project.
@ SirDeanosity me ... By: ConnorXV. on 20 May 11, 15:28:56 @ SirDeanosity me and my friend at school are designing a coilgun and I need to get behind improving the power it? packs, the capacitance of the bank is 3 milli Farads at 350v which not so much launches but drops an iron slug out the other side around 3-4 feet, I know something isn't right
@ SirDeanosity yay ... By: ConnorXV. on 20 May 11, 15:22:35 @ SirDeanosity yay I am the reason for somebody's motivation over the? Internet! It's good knowingvi have (possibly) helped someone out. I'm going to try get some uploads done when I find something good to video and when I have time.
Thank you for your ... By: SirDeanosity. on 20 May 11, 11:37:17 Thank you for your reply! I now see the emitter connection? note in your video description. My son is on me to use this circuit to power a coil gun or simply a solenoid with attitude. Being the electronics person I am, I plan to delve into the details of how this type of circuit operates. Will let you know what I find out. Just don't know when.
Oh yeah I have ... By: ConnorXV. on 15 May 11, 22:35:12 Oh yeah I have little electronics knowledge, I am aware of the safety and the physics of it but I have yet to get? past simple stuff like this.
@ SirDeanosity it ... By: ConnorXV. on 15 May 11, 22:32:23 @ SirDeanosity it has no voltage regulation so I have had peak voltages at 500v and minimum at 350v on different AA batteries which is weird but I think it's cos they're cheap short life camera ones.I've 'messed' around with capacitors and this circuit make up for a while and there has been no performance drop in the caps to date so I don't think? there's too much of a problem with it.
@ SirDeanosity I ... By: ConnorXV. on 15 May 11, 22:30:54 @ SirDeanosity I would like to say thanks for commenting! And the transistor is standard to your regular 5 pin transformer camera circuit don't know the make ( it is npn though), yes you are right about the emitter and collector being wrong, I confused myself with that one. I don't know anything? about the transformer i was just messing around with it and got this circuit to work.
I have three ... By: SirDeanosity. on 15 May 11, 21:18:49 I have three questions. 1) What is the transistor type (2N2222, 2N2904, etc)? If this is an NPN transistor, I don't see how this would work with the collector connected to the battery "-". Is it really the emitter that is tied? to the battery "-"? 2)Do you know what pins the phasing dots are on? 3) How does this circuit regulate the max charge voltage to 400V? Thanks!
