Hi Sandor. Yeah, ... By: Alphasys. on 18 Apr 12, 08:13:35 Hi Sandor. Yeah, this is a blast from the past. You guys have made some nice demo's for sure. Nice to know where this originally came from. I have seen this animation on the C64 as well back in the day, sooooo long ago. I was just wondering about the person depicted here. Is this just some random girl, or a well-known person? The only thing that stuck all those years, is her name. Since the full name is associated with this animation, it feels like she had some? celebrity status.
Haha, I didn't ... By: need4sid. on 14 Apr 12, 08:51:39 Haha, I didn't expect to see this now :)
I'm Sandor from Hard Software. We did these demos back when we were around 16 years old.
Well, we did all the Atari programming indeed, including the SID music playback routines (1st in the world), created? most of the logos, etc... but we also took GFX and most of the music from the C64 (we failed to mention the composers and font creators... shame on us..).
In this instance, the Veronika GFX and the tune came from a reLine intro (Hollywood Poker Pro).
This demo needs 2 Atari's normally. One for each audio channel. I've managed to make this mix into one. This is the picture from one Atari, and the audio of two, so to speak.
Both tracks are contained within the same demo. Just the left audio track is started by pressing 1 (to 5, but this tune is no 1) and the other by pressing shift-1 (to 5, same reason). Hope you enjoy the mix.
Rendering of the "Dancing girl" part of "The top 3" by "World Federation of Mad Hackers". This silhouette of a girl is supposed to be of Veronika Moessinger.
Imagine this...
You hook up your Atari on the TV set, and run this little program you got from a friend...
Want to kill your own Atari XL/XE? Well, you're warned... But you can find it here: http://www.alphasys. nl/downloads/Paperwe ight.zip (16343 bytes)

The coder should've ... By: jsuite. on 24 Jun 11, 08:17:01 The coder should've popped ANTIC into wide playfield mode at the end for the static... the black bars on the side are a dead giveaway that it's a fake.
For an added bonus, generate 16K of "static" from POKEY, then make judicious use of display lists (and more of POKEY's random register) to make a screenful of static that not only? changes at 60 frames/sec but jumps or rolls vertically.
Goddamn I miss my Atari sometimes :)
True, would have ... By: Alphasys. on 27 May 11, 06:48:49 True, would have been better if the corruption spread to the display RAM aswell as the character ROM-simulation. But with all the hiss-pop-crackle I doubt anyone notices that slight discrepancy while running this lil prank program. The running program would also get corrupted, leading to a fault-state. Throwing off any of the code running would kill it long before anything burned? out, no matter if it were the main loop, maintenance VBI or display list.

Gladly, this is all very small, so I can spare the space.? There must be rom-sites that host this, but they are hard to find, and probably need registration. I got this (and 662MB more) from a dear friend. Which is good, since most of my original disks turned to dust about 10 years ago.

If you haven't seen it, this tune was made by Raster/C.P.U. in 2003 Not my work. All credit goes to Raster.

I've also been prepping some of my old simulations, for easy public use, I'll then start posting videos, showing the sim, and placing a direct download link in the side...
